![]() ![]() I've used the D2B coding to add a CD player to the configuration on my SLK and it worked fine. It also provides engine and gearbox adaptation erase and coding for ME, Airbags, D2B ring, AAM and EAM. ![]() On the SLK it does 12 systems, all using the OBD2 port. But it is at least useful when the engine is running to check readings. Maybe if one can find a 38-pin plug with a 90 degree angle it would be possible to drive and take measurements. It also provides live data on the engine and gearbox, but it will be a bit difficult in real life, since you probably cannot close the hood with the 38-pin plug in place. It can diagnose the engine thru the OBD2 port, but for full diagnostics you have to use the 38-pin connection in the fuse-box in the engine compartment. Installation is not too horrible if you have an average knowledge of computers and you can actually read and follow instructions. Also, according to the R170 forum, the laptop should preferably have a native RS232 port. The important thing is to make sure that you buy a multiplexer version, since the non-multiplexer version will not provide all the diagnostics. I selected the $119 copy, since it was sold locally and not sent from overseas.
